Borno Governor, Professor Babagana Umara zulum Mni arrives Maiduguri Saturday afternoon, after his official engagements at the federal capital, Abuja.
On his arrival, the Governor went straight to the Borno state university, where he inspected the Senate building and some of the faculties.

While at the university, the Governor directed the institution to start academic activities from the next session with remedial program and pronounced the award scholarship for 3,000 students, which will be from those that will be admitted to remedial studies to study science based courses.
One hundred students from each of the twenty seven local governments will be admitted and two hundred from the Maiduguri metropolis and Jere local governments respectively.
It's expected that after a rigorous training of the new intake and after graduation, they'll be in place to be absorbed to the Mega schools and the other existing schools.

Another 3000 will be enrolled in social sciences, they will be facilitated to the employed into the military and para military.
The scholarship covers their remedial as well as the duration of their degree study years, which will include tuition fees and  accommodation .
"with proper planning, nothing will stop us from starting medicine next year" concluded the Governor.
