Breaking - I have not reconciled with Emir Sanusi yet- Ganduje

Against the reports making the rounds that Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammad Sanusi ll, had ended the truce between them, the chief Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Alhaji Abba Anwar has said the are yet to reconcile.
According to him, even though a reconciliation meeting was held in Abuja on Friday, the matter has not been resolved.

He said, “Certainly, a reconciliation meeting was organised by Governor Fayemi and Alhaji Aliko Dangote  and the governor and emir attended the meeting, the governor has not given his stand on the matter.

“What I can confirm to you is that the dialogue is still on, therefore, we should wait for the response of the governor.” He added that the meeting was attended by many district heads and other traditional rulers.
Meanwhile a media report had it that the rift between Governor Ganduje and the Emir may have come to an end after the duo reached a truce on Friday night, June 7, in Abuja.

President Buhari reportedly intervened following calls by northern elders as the estrangement between the governor and the emir raised tension in the state.
It was gathered that the president’s intervention came a day to the expiration of a query issued to the emir by the state government, seeking answers on alleged misappropriation of the emirate’s finances.

At the peace meeting held on Friday night, the governor and the emir reportedly agreed to sheath the sword for the interest of Kano and prevent a breakdown of law and order.
The reconciliatory meeting was allegedly presided over by the chairman of Nigerian Governors’ Forum and governor of Ekiti state, Kayode Fayemi, and attended by “a very few notable personalities”.
Recall that the crisis had earlier been linked to Emir Sanusi’s alleged support for the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Abba Yusuf, in the 2019 governorship election in the state.
